Statewide COVID-19 Vaccination Event for Deaf/Hard of Hearing Hoosiers

DHHS is excited to announce that vaccination sites for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing Communities will be available statewide!

DHHS and the State of Indiana are partnering with Walgreens to provide onsite vaccination locations across the state at the local Deaf Clubs, Case Management offices, Developmental Service Centers, and Walgreens stores in selected areas. On-site sign language Interpreters will be available at each location.

Locations are in eight (8) different areas of the state:

  • Greater Indianapolis Deaf Club (Indianapolis IN)

  • Madison Deaf Club (Ingalls IN)

  • TradeWinds (Merrillville IN)

  • League for the Blind (Fort Wayne IN)

  • Putnam County Comprehensive Services (Greencastle, IN)

  • Developmental Services Inc. (Columbus IN)

  • Walgreens – Sycamore Services (Evansville IN)

  • Walgreens (New Albany IN)

Persons eligible for these vaccinations must be deaf and/or hard of hearing and 12 years old and up. Minors must be accompanied by an adult. This can include deaf parents of hearing children or hearing parents with deaf children (12 – 17 years of age), hearing adults who are care-givers to their deaf parents or family members. Each person who will be at the site to receive a vaccine needs to register. We encourage all Deaf and Hard of Hearing Hoosiers to take advantage of this event! Refreshments will be provided.
