BREAKING: IAD Speaks Out on Urgent Budget Cuts Impacting Indiana School for the Deaf

Updated: 4 days ago

On June 17, the Indiana Association of the Deaf (IAD) took urgent action by meeting with WISH-TV and WRTV to raise public awareness about the devastating budget crisis at the Indiana School for the Deaf (ISD).

IAD President Jeffrey Spinale Jr. delivered strong remarks about how the recent state-imposed $3 million budget cut has jeopardized student support, staffing, and the quality of Deaf education across the state.

Both interviews aired later that day, with WRTV offering extended coverage at 6 PM to explore the deeper impact of these cuts on Indiana's Deaf community.

➡️ IAD urges the community to continue spreading the word and pushing for funding restoration. Donations can be made to the Indiana Deaf Children Foundation (IDCF) — a nonprofit that directly supports the Indiana School for the Deaf and its students. Every contribution helps preserve Deaf education, programs, and opportunities.
